Jupiter or Guru Brihaspati is a masculine and the biggest planet of our solar system. In Vedic Astrology it represents expansion, higher intellect, law, ideology in life and wisdom. In the spiritual realm, it rules over faith, religion, philosophy and the quest for finding spiritual liberation in life.
Jupiter takes almost 12 years to complete its cycle of the zodiac and it stays in each sign for about a year. It rules the sign of Sagittarius and Pisces, which falls in the 9th and the 12th house of the natural zodiac. It is friendly with Sun, Moon and Mars. It’s neutral to Saturn and Mercury, whereas Venus, Rahu and Ketu are its enemies. Jupiter’s influence is positive if placed in Cancer, its place of exaltation; own sign of Sagittarius and Pisces or a friendly sign, it is also considered auspicious in “Gajkesari Bhava” i.e. when in conjunction or in Kendra from Moon and it is negative when debilitated in the sign of Capricorn.
