12th House:
The 12th house is the last house in Vedic Astrology signifying completion of life cycles and endings. It is last of the Moksha houses leading to spiritual liberation and is also known as the Vyaya Bhava giving an insight into dissipative expenditure and spending patterns. Planet Jupiter the “Spiritual Guru” is the Karaka or the natural significator of this house.
This house deals with loss of money, heavy expenditures, extravagance, debts, deception and struggles. Affliction here can lead to imprisonment, hospitalization, sleeplessness, separation, addictions, secret enemies, poverty, misfortune, anxiety, inferiority complex and loss of near and dear ones. This is the house of solitude, silent sufferings and undoing of the self. It can further cause mental disabilities, prone to unspiritual addictions such as intoxication, drug abuse, pleasures on the bed, sex enslavement and so on. However, when under favorable conditions this house can also uncover unexpected hidden wealth, treasure and resources.
This house also represents dissociation from the native place of birth, long distance and long-term travel abroad, foreign settlement, import, export, international tourism, business and interaction with people and countries of foreign origin.
It is the house representing monks, sages and people striving towards spiritual enlightenment. It governs all places like ashrams, meditation centers, monasteries, places of worship, etc. Meditation, Yoga and other spiritual doctrines also come under the realm here.
12th house rules the final deliverance from the cycle of life & death and the Atma merging with Parmatma. It shows renunciation and detachment from the material world in order to return back to one’s pure Atmic Sharir necessary to attain Moksha.
